LDM benefits: what is it used for in skin care?

1. Adding treatments to sensitive skin calls for extra care

Hello, this is Datena Clinic.
If your skin flushes and feels tight easily, you might read up on treatments that are supposed to help and still hesitate to actually book one.
The first thing on your mind may be the worry that your skin will end up stinging more or becoming even more sensitive.
And if irritation is still lingering after another procedure, you probably just want to give your skin some gentle, soothing care.
Here we explain what LDM may be considered for, and what we need to look at first given your current symptoms.
2. Understand how the ultrasound works and what it's for

LDM offers programs that use ultrasound at different frequencies.
Even treatments that share the same name can differ in mode, duration and the products used alongside them.
It helps to be specific about the change you're hoping for afterward, such as how hydrated your skin feels or how much discomfort you have.
Different programs and different skin conditions can lead to different reactions after treatment.[1]
3. With red, stinging skin, we look for the cause first

Irritation from a new skincare product and dermatitis that keeps coming back may call for different approaches.
Areas that are very hot, painful or weeping may not be ready for an added treatment right away.
We may consider supportive care while treating the underlying cause.
Even if the goal is simply to calm uncomfortable skin, an exam is needed to make sure it suits your current condition.
4. If you have acne, get the treatment it needs too

If new breakouts keep popping up while you're having LDM, we need to take another look at the inflammation.
Deep, painful acne or pus-filled lesions may need treatment that targets the cause, such as medication.
Current skin concern | What we look at together |
|---|---|
Dryness and tightness | Moisture levels and products that may be irritating |
Recurring redness or stinging | Dermatitis, the products you use, and the cause of symptoms |
Painful acne | How inflamed it is and what acne treatment is needed |
We'd hate for you to keep up with skincare treatments alone and put off symptoms that really need medical treatment.
5. After other procedures, we set your start date separately

Right after a laser or injectable procedure, the skin surface and deeper tissue may be at different stages of recovery.
Even if LDM is part of the plan, when to start and which products to use need to be decided separately.
If you feel uncomfortable stinging or heat during treatment, please tell us right away.
At home, avoid adding several harsh products and simply keep up the moisturizing and skincare routine we recommend.
6. We want this to be care that eases your skin's discomfort

LDM is an ultrasound treatment we consider based on your current skin condition and goals.
After treatment, it's important to check how your original discomfort, such as tightness and redness, has changed.
If dermatitis or acne persists, you may also need medical care that targets the underlying cause.
We hope today's guide helps you care for your skin more comfortably.
