Frequently Asked Questions

We've gathered the questions our patients ask us most often. If you can't find your answer, just ask us directly below.

Booking & Changes

How do I book?

Send us your name, contact details, the treatment you're interested in and your preferred date on WhatsApp. We'll check availability and send you a confirmation. Please note that sending a request alone doesn't confirm your booking.

If you're coming from abroad, let us know the dates you'll be in Korea, and we'll schedule your appointment with your post-treatment recovery time in mind.

How do I change or cancel my booking?

Just send us your name, contact details and the date you'd like to switch to via WhatsApp or phone, and we'll find an available time. If your preferred day is fully booked, we'll suggest the closest available slot. Cancellations work the same way, and whenever you're ready to come back, just tell us your schedule and we'll help you rebook.

If my preferred date is fully booked, can I join a waitlist?

Yes. Leave us your preferred date and time, and we'll put you on the cancellation waitlist and message you on WhatsApp if a spot opens up. In the meantime, we recommend booking the closest available time so you have a spot secured.

Can I come in today?

For same-day appointments, please call us at +82-2-6952-6980. If there's an opening, we can fit you in, but since you'll be squeezed in between booked patients, you may wait around 30 minutes to an hour. First-time patients need extra time for consultation and numbing, so you may only have your consultation that day and come back for the treatment another time.

Is there a deposit for scar consultations and treatments?

Because scar consultations and treatments take up a long block of time, we ask for a deposit to confirm your booking. If you go ahead with treatment, the deposit is deducted from your treatment fee; if you only have a consultation, it's applied as the consultation fee. The amount and payment method will be included in your booking confirmation.

I think I'm going to be late.

Please let us know in advance via WhatsApp or phone. We'll note your expected arrival time and do our best to accommodate you. However, for treatments that require numbing, arriving late cuts into numbing time, so treatment that day may not be possible or may need to be rescheduled. If you're more than 30 minutes late, your appointment may be canceled depending on the clinic's schedule.

Wed · SunClosed
Last check-inWeekdays 18:30 · Sat 14:00

Our holiday hours change from month to month. Please check the clinic schedule we post each month.

If I'm coming in the evening, what's the latest I can arrive?

Last check-in is 6:30 PM on weekdays and 2:00 PM on Saturdays. First-time patients need extra time for consultation and numbing, so if your treatment requires numbing, we recommend arriving before 6:00 PM on weekdays. Timing varies a bit by treatment, so we'll let you know when you book.

Where are you located?

We're at 3F Max Building, 108 Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul. Take Exit 4 at Jamsil Saenae Station (Line 2) and walk straight for about 5 minutes — it's the building between Olive Young and McDonald's. Please check in at the front desk on the 3rd floor. You'll find a map and photos on our Directions page.

Where can I park?

The building has no parking lot. Please use the nearby Eunseong Parking Lot (184-14 Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul). Turn into the street by the building between Olive Young and McDonald's, take an immediate left, and go straight to the end of the alley. If you have a consultation or treatment with us, we cover your full parking fee with no time limit — just grab a parking ticket and show it at the front desk before you head home.

There's a 3rd floor and a 9th floor — where do I go?

Always come to the front desk on the 3rd floor first. Check-in, consultation, face cleansing and photos all happen on the 3rd floor, and for treatments done on the 9th floor, such as scar treatments, our staff will show you the way.

First Visit

Can I get treated on the same day as my consultation?

Often, yes — but since your first visit includes a consultation followed by treatment, please set aside 1 to 2 hours. If it's late in the day or the treatment needs a long numbing time, you may only have your consultation that day and come back for treatment later. If you'd like same-day treatment, let us know when you book and we'll reserve plenty of time for you.

How long will I have to wait?

Even with a booking, you may wait around 30 minutes if the patient before you runs long. Scar treatments take over an hour from numbing to finish, so please leave some room in your schedule afterward.

What should I bring?

If you have records or photos of treatments you've had elsewhere, please bring them — they're a big help with diagnosis. If you're coming in for scars, feel free to take our 30-second self-assessment first and show us your assessment number.

Can minors have a consultation?

Yes. Minors have their consultation together with a parent or guardian. If it's difficult for a guardian to come along, please let us know when you book.

Can I be sedated for treatment?

For safety reasons, we don't use IV sedation or gas anesthesia. Instead, we apply a generous layer of numbing cream before treatment and, when needed, add a nerve block. If you're worried about pain, just let us know during your consultation.

Do you treat general skin conditions?

We don't offer general dermatology care covered by national health insurance. We focus only on cosmetic treatments such as scars, acne, pigmentation and lifting.

Before Your Treatment

Can you treat my scar? (surgical, injury or old scars)

Yes. Even if it isn't an acne scar, a depressed scar can be treated on the same principle within our partial scar treatment framework. Wide burn scars and incision scars that remain as a single thin line have limitations, and raised scars (keloids) are handled with a different approach. For newer scars, we assess them once the redness has settled. You can get a first idea of which type yours is with our 30-second self-check.

I recently had a procedure at another clinic. Is that okay?

The waiting period depends on the type of procedure. Let us know the name and date of your recent treatment when you book, and we'll find a date that works. At your consultation, the doctor will check your skin and make the final call.

Are there treatments you don't offer?

We don't offer fillers, hair removal for women, Brazilian hair removal (hair removal is for men only), body InMode, sedation (sleep anesthesia), or general care covered by Korean national health insurance. The devices and treatments listed in our Treatment Guide are everything we offer. If you ask about a treatment we don't have, we'll let you know whether we have one that serves a similar purpose.

Does it hurt a lot?

For most treatments, we apply numbing cream for about 30 minutes first. The Skin Therapy Program (Salgyeol Therapy) feels like a slight sting, about the same as having a pimple extracted. It varies by treatment, so check the Treatment Guide for the numbing method and how long each one takes.

Can I go to work the day after?

For the Skin Therapy Program, redness lasts about a week. Once you remove the gauze the next morning before washing your face, you can wash, wear makeup and exercise. If you come in on a Friday or Saturday, you'll be fine for work on Monday. Recovery times for other treatments are listed in the Treatment Guide.

Aftercare & Sessions

How long until my next session?

As a baseline, it's at least 4 weeks for the Skin Therapy Program and scar treatments, 2 weeks for pigmentation and toning, and one month for skin boosters like Rejuran and Juvelook. This can vary a little with your skin's condition, so we'll set your next date together at each session.

Do my remaining sessions expire?

No. Just book whenever suits you and pick up where you left off. You can also continue after pregnancy and childbirth.

I'd like to check my remaining sessions or reward points.

Send your name and contact details via WhatsApp, and after verifying your identity, we'll let you know your remaining sessions, reward points and next available appointment dates.

Can I get my before-and-after photos?

Yes. Request them via WhatsApp and we'll send them after verifying your identity. We usually provide a side-by-side comparison of your first and most recent sessions.

How long do the redness and scabs last?

After the Skin Therapy Program, a grid-pattern red mark lasting about 7–10 days is normal. Don't pick the scabs; let them fall off on their own, and keep your skin moisturized and protected from the sun. If you get blisters, severe stinging or increasing oozing, send us a photo via WhatsApp.

When can I exercise, use a sauna or drink alcohol?

For the Skin Therapy Program, light exercise is fine from the next day. Wait until all the scabs have fallen off before using saunas, Korean bathhouses (jjimjilbang) or swimming. Avoiding alcohol while there's still redness helps your recovery.

I've had a breakout or inflammation after my treatment.

Send us a photo taken in good lighting via WhatsApp. We'll review it and guide you on how to care for it, and if needed, we'll book you a follow-up visit as soon as possible. Please don't squeeze or scratch it.

Payment & Documents

How do I pay?

We accept both card and cash, and we issue cash receipts for cash payments. There's no cash discount. Installment terms vary by card issuer, so our front desk will check them for you.

Can I pay with a foreign card?

You can pay with a physical card issued abroad (Visa or Mastercard), UnionPay or Alipay. If you're overseas, we'll explain the deposit separately when your booking is confirmed.

Can I get a VAT refund (tax refund) as a foreign visitor?

Not at the moment. Cosmetic medical services aren't eligible for the foreign visitor VAT refund, so no clinic in Korea can offer a tax refund for them.

Can I get my receipt or prescription reissued?

Our front desk can issue medical fee receipts and itemized statements. For prescriptions, request them via WhatsApp and we'll send them again.

Skin Therapy Program & Scars

What is the Skin Therapy Program?

It's an acne scar treatment program developed by Datena Clinic. In a single session, it combines regenerative treatment, which delivers medication beneath the scar to build new tissue, with destructive treatment, which uses a laser to resurface hardened scar tissue. You'll find details on how it works, the grades and the number of sessions on our Skin Therapy Program page.

When will I see results?

With typical skin regeneration, the filling-in often becomes visible from the second session onward, and by 5 sessions, you can usually see improvement worth comparing in before-and-after photos. Results vary depending on lifestyle and your skin's ability to regenerate.

Where can I see reviews or before-and-after photos?

On our Before & After page, we've posted progress photos from 2024 to today, along with the treatment period and number of sessions. You'll also find visitor reviews on Naver, plus videos on our YouTube channel 「@haclinic」 where the doctor walks through the treatment process himself.
