Gold PTT
Gold PTT (Gold Nanoparticle Photothermal Therapy)
A photothermal therapy (PTT) that drives gold nanoparticles deep into the sebaceous glands inside pores, then heats them with a laser to selectively destroy those glands — tackling the root of acne (excess oil).
What is it?
A solution containing gold nanoparticles is applied to the skin and pushed deep into the pores and sebaceous glands using ultrasound, vibration and similar methods. When the laser is then applied, the gold particles absorb the light and generate heat (photothermal therapy), and this heat selectively destroys the sebaceous glands where the particles have gathered. As gland activity drops, oil production decreases and fewer breakouts occur in the first place — all while keeping damage to the surrounding skin to a minimum.
Who it's for
- Recurring inflammatory acne, excess oil
- Patients who can't take or prefer not to take medication (such as isotretinoin)
- Less oil → fewer acne recurrences, less shine
At Datena
Gold particle absorption → 1064nm laser. Offered as 1 or 3 sessions
Before treatment

- Treatment is postponed on areas with active herpes or severe dermatitis
After treatment
- No vigorous cleansing, scrubs or peeling products on the day
- Sun protection is a must; avoid saunas and alcohol for a few days

- Rarely, pigmentation or blistering
- Almost no downtime, so you can get right back to your day
"A treatment that shrinks the oil glands that cause acne in the first place" "Not squeezing and drying out breakouts, but reducing how often they come back" "Gold particles heat only the oil glands, so the surrounding skin stays safe" "Almost no downtime; back to normal the same day"
Results and recovery time vary depending on your skin. Pricing and the exact number of sessions will be explained during your consultation after diagnosis. Written based on in-clinic materials as of October 2026.
