Skin Therapy Program for Scars

DATENA ACNE SCAR CARE · Skin Texture Therapy / "The DATENA Method of Skin Texture Regeneration: Total Korean-Style Acne Scar Care" (LINE and price list: Skin Texture Regeneration Program, Salgyeol Therapy) · DATENA Skin Texture Regeneration Therapy (common Traditional Chinese terms: pitted scar / indented scar treatment)

Datena's own combination scar program for acne scars and pores, built on two principles: regeneration (delivering medication beneath scars with subcision and CureJet) and resurfacing (UltraPulse Encore fractional laser). Every session runs all three steps as a routine across every scar on the face. Tagline: "Your last scar treatment: the Skin Therapy Program."

Time neededFirst visit: 1.5–2 hours (including consultation) / follow-up visits: 1 hour (not counting wait time). 1–1.5 hours including numbing cream
Anesthesia & PainWait after numbing cream (9th floor) → treatment. No sedation
DowntimeRedness lasts about 1 week on average (strong redness 1–2 days). Makeup, face washing and exercise are fine from the next morning. With scar fx mode, 2–3 weeks
Sessions1 session → Core 5 sessions (6 total) → Master 10 sessions (11 total) → Extension 3 sessions. What we tell patients: you feel a difference by session 3, satisfying results are possible by session 6, and 11 sessions are for stubborn scars
IntervalAt least 4 weeks. After that, it depends on your skin. When treatment was done more aggressively, a 2-month interval is sometimes better, so we decide at your next visit after the first session based on your skin's condition and a check-in
MaintenanceScar improvement builds up session by session and lasts (it doesn't go back). There's no such thing as a "complete cure": at the final session, we compare before-and-after and decide whether to finish or extend
Last bookable timeFirst visit: 11:00 AM or 6:00 PM / follow-up: 11:30 AM or 6:30 PM

What is it?

  • Regeneration: Medications that build new tissue (Juvelook Volume / Cell-DM / PDRN / MCT autologous exosomes, depending on the program) are placed beneath scars using tools that release them. Subcision cuts the tethering under wide scars (rolling and large boxcar) while injecting; CureJet (a needle-free jet) delivers into narrow scars (ice pick and small boxcar).
  • Resurfacing: Fibrotic scar tissue doesn't respond to regeneration ("like watering a dead tree"). The UltraPulse Encore, the top-tier fractional laser, shaves down scar tissue so it is replaced with fresh skin tissue.
  • Analogy: Scar treatment is like stacking LEGO bricks: each session adds another layer of new tissue into the dips. It's a combination treatment, like tearing down an old apartment building (resurfacing) and putting up a new one (regeneration).

Who it's for

  • Main target: acne scars (atrophic, non-fibrotic: ice pick, boxcar, rolling). Also improves enlarged pores and uneven texture. Hypertrophic scars and keloids are handled as exceptions, mainly with pinhole technique (for physician reference only).
  • Prognostic factors: age (younger is better), sex (men respond better), shape (wider and shallower is better), location (temples/outer cheeks > front cheeks > forehead > between brows/chin > philtrum > nose), tethering (softer is better), color (redder is better).
  • Scars that are difficult to treat at Datena: single scars larger than a coin, large burn scars, and thin surgical or injury scars.

At Datena

  • Regenerative medication by tier: Basic PDRN / Standard Juvelook Volume / Intensive Cell-DM / Premium Sosaeng Therapy (regenerative care, autologous blood MCT) medication. Common steps: subcision (wide scars) + CureJet (narrow scars) + UltraPulse Encore fractional laser
  • Sessions: 1 / 6 / 11 (per the director's consultation sheet), the same session structure in Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Patient roadmap: session 1, start and check response → session 3, you feel new tissue filling in → session 6, satisfying improvement possible, before-and-after comparison → session 11, for stubborn scars and a more complete finish.
  • Partial scar treatment (only a few agreed-upon scars, Juvelook Volume only): 1 or 5 sessions.
  • Treatment interval: at least 4 weeks, then depending on your skin. When treatment was more aggressive, a 2-month interval is sometimes better, so we decide at the next visit after the first session (Director, 26-10-18)
  • Time required: first visit 1.5–2 hours (including consultation) / follow-up 1 hour. P+ estimated at 2.5–3 hours including blood draw, IV and chamber (not yet measured) (TM·NUR)
  • Partial scar treatment follows the same interval as the Skin Therapy Program for scars
  • Standard aftercare: 3 sessions of V-beam + toning, 2–3 weeks apart, starting at least 2 weeks after your final Skin Therapy session
  • For Skin Therapy, pore and partial scar treatments, preventive antibiotics are prescribed at both first and follow-up visits (free of charge)
  • At the final session, after a before-and-after photo comparison and an additional consultation, you receive a Skin Therapy certificate
  • P and P+ can be offered from the very first consultation. We screen with one question about expectations: we don't recommend them to people expecting multiplied results, knee benefits, blood test changes or disease treatment, and we offer them to people who want certainty, recovery, and to leave everything to us in one go
  • One consultation line: "What are you hoping to get out of this?" → If the answer is "the best option, all at once, my body too, just leave it to you without overthinking," we explain P or P+, with only one choice to make (P or P+). We don't recommend RECOVE separately
  • What we tell guests: "The results are the same or a little better. The experience is clearly different. Our promise is about the experience, not the results."

Before treatment

  • Face wash → photos (front, left 45°, right 45°) → pre-treatment questionnaire → consultation with the doctor (prognosis and setting expectations) → consultation with the coordinator → move to the 9th floor → wait after numbing cream.
  • If active acne covers the face, we treat the acne first. Mild cases (fewer than 10 scattered breakouts) can proceed alongside anti-inflammatory injections. Minors can be treated.
  • For patients with excessive expectations, those who try to direct the procedure, or those who are very price-sensitive, we adjust expectations during the consultation.

After treatment

  • Right after: antibiotic ointment + Vaseline patch → remove the next morning and wash your face. Haseryn morning and night for 1 week. Light makeup only within 1 week; no functional ampoules or sheet masks. Grid-pattern red marks for 7–10 days are normal. Contact us if you get blisters or severe stinging
  • Right after: eye ointment + Vaseline gauze → remove the next morning before washing. After that, exercise, makeup and face washing are fine. Apply Haseryn (Skin Therapy recovery kit) for 1 week.
  • If you're treated on a Friday or Saturday, it won't interfere with going to work on Monday or Tuesday. For 1 week, avoid heavy makeup that needs double cleansing and heavy drinking, and avoid heat-based lasers (lifting, pigment, hair removal). Injection treatments are OK from the afternoon of the next day.
  • Adding the hyperbaric oxygen chamber boosts recovery (separate guide).
  • International patients after returning home: send photos on Day 3, 7 and 14 via LINE/WhatsApp and a doctor will review them (diagnostic report and Treatment Passport system).

Good to know

  • Common: redness (about 1 week on average, strong redness 1–2 days), minor bleeding and bruising (from subcision), scabbing, temporary pigmentation, and rarely folliculitis or acne flare-ups.
  • Any scar treatment carries a chance of making scars "deeper," but the Skin Therapy Program only uses treatments that can be corrected in the remaining sessions. That's why we don't use TCA CROSS, which can't be reversed (the director's philosophy: every treatment should be reversible).
  • Scar FX (intensive mode) leaves redness for at least 2–3 weeks — this must be explained beforehand.

Pairs well with

Skin Therapy post-care (tone and marks) · scar filler (deep single depressions) · anti-inflammatory injections (active lesions) · hyperbaric oxygen chamber (recovery) · after the final session, upsell skin boosters/lifting (for women 40+, explain combining with firming care).

"There's no such thing as a 100% cure for scars, but they can definitely improve. How much they improve depends largely on your age, the shape and location of the scars, and how fibrotic they are — and in your case, there's real room for improvement. We do two things together. Regenerative treatment, where we place a medication under the scars that helps new tissue form (subcision and CureJet), and resurfacing treatment, where a laser shaves away hardened scar tissue so it's replaced with new skin (UltraPulse). All three of these are done as a routine on every scar across your face, every session. It won't be done in one visit — based on where you are now, we recommend n sessions, and at the final session we'll look at your before-and-after photos together and decide whether to wrap up or keep going. You can get back to normal life from the next morning, and redness lasts about a week."

Results and recovery time vary depending on your skin. Pricing and the exact number of sessions will be explained during your consultation after diagnosis. Written based on in-clinic materials as of October 2026.
