What Is the Skin Therapy Program?

The Skin Therapy Program (Salgyeol Therapy) is an acne scar treatment program created by Datena Clinic in Jamsil, Seoul. In a single session, it combines regenerative treatment (subcision and CureJet), which places a new-tissue-building agent under the scar, with resurfacing treatment (UltraPulse Encore), which uses a laser to shave down hardened scar tissue so new skin can replace it. All three steps are part of the routine for full-face scars in every session.

Funny thing: the first question people ask at a scar consultation usually isn't "What is the Skin Therapy Program?" It's how Basic differs from Standard, how much it costs to treat just a few spots on the cheek, and whether five sessions will really make a difference. Those three come up the most, so this post is here to answer them.

Why do both at once?

Depressed scars involve two overlapping problems: fibrous bands pulling the scar down from underneath, and scar tissue that has already hardened. Cut only the bands and the hardened tissue stays; use only the laser and the bands pull it back down. So we release the bands with subcision and CureJet while placing a new-tissue-building agent in that space, then use UltraPulse to shave down the hardened tissue so new skin can come up. It's like tearing down an old apartment block and building a new one. Think of each session as adding one more layer of Lego.

How do Basic, Standard, Intensive and Premium differ?

The work is the same. All three steps, subcision, CureJet and UltraPulse, are included in every tier. What differs is the agent placed under the scar.
Basic uses PDRN, a regenerative substance that supports wound healing.
Standard uses Juvelook Volume, which prompts your body to make its own collagen.
Intensive uses Cellredm, which delivers collagen directly, giving more effect per session with less redness. Material costs are higher.
Premium uses PRP and MCT: autologous blood-derived stem cells drawn from your own blood, plus exosomes.
We decide on the right tier together at your consultation, based on the shape and depth of your scars, how sensitive your skin is, and how many sessions you have in mind.

I only have a few spots on my cheeks

We offer a separate spot scar treatment. Only the few scars we choose together at consultation are treated with subcision and CureJet, using Juvelook Volume. It comes as 1 session or 5 sessions. Acne scars are priced by count; stitch or surgical scars by length.
1–2 scars or under 2cm: ₩200,000 per session, ₩800,000 for 5.
3–5 scars or 2–5cm: ₩300,000 per session, ₩1,200,000 for 5.
6–10 scars or 5–10cm: ₩400,000 per session, ₩1,600,000 for 5.

How many sessions do I need?

You can choose 1 session, a 5-session Core Session package, or a 10-session Master Session package. One session is the starting point to see how you respond; around session 3 you can feel new tissue filling in; by 5, improvement worth comparing in before-and-after photos is possible. Old, deep scars may take up to 10. If you want more, you can continue with 3-session Extensions. No scar treatment offers a 100% cure, but scars can improve. How much they improve depends largely on your age and the shape, location and hardness of the scars. At the final session, we review before-and-after photos together and decide whether to wrap up or keep going. Sessions must be at least one month apart. After a month, any gap is fine, because scar improvement builds up session by session and doesn't reverse.

Can I go to work the next day?

Redness lasts about a week; strong redness lasts a day or two. Remove the gauze the next morning before washing your face, and from then on you can wear makeup, wash and exercise. If you come in on a Friday or Saturday, you'll be fine for work on Monday. For one week, avoid heavy makeup that needs double cleansing, and avoid heavy drinking.

What we don't do

We don't use irreversible treatments. Any scar treatment carries a chance of making things worse, so we only use treatments that can be corrected in the next session if that happens. To us, this matters most. That's why we don't use TCA CROSS.
